The invisible hand of 'Market forces'

It's OPPORTUNISM!

Opportunism becomes more feasible the more abstractly remote you get from direct physical interactions, because of the increased latitude of options, unencumbered by physical practicalities.

Only the disciplined, mortal 'saints', and the truly altruistic would have clean hands in this economic perspective. All others do what they must or can get by 'fait accompli', legally-ala politics, or unethically and illegally. There are few to no good-guys out there. We know the limits of our capabilities and we stay within them, either resigned, settled, and satisfied with our station of operational potential, or biding our time for the right moment to take advantage of a gimme with more upsides than downsides.

Most businesses and interactions that deal in tangible exchanges or a localized 'customer' base are compelled by the necessity for the good will of the return 'business' to be nice. Some accept this as a personal trait, while others see it as a 'No-duh' practicality. These 'good' people are not the forces that drive the direction of markets, resources, or cultural dynamics. They are the fodder.

The opportunists seek those conditions of maximum leverage for themselves in relation to the restraints or constraints of others as their motivator. The opportunist see their knowledge as a weapon to be used for themselves, and, incidentally, against others. Any mutual benefit is coincidental to the former consideration. There is no social morality except for its cynical , opportunistic utility.

The aggrandizement, petite or grande, is the ends. Opportunism is the means.
